I just want to share a very negative experience with Din of Home Network Solutions. First of all, I was asked to pay $150 just for him to assess my home for installing a new wifi system. He came and proposed a system by UniFi involving a few $k... and a service fee of $1.2k for labour including mourning 2 ceiling. He came across as a demure gentleman and was sincere. I found out that 1) the specs he proposed were of the lower range 2) the prices he proposed were higher than that of the higher spec models. I asked him if he were ok if I supply the equipment myself and I pay him just for the labour. Surprisingly he agreed and came with a handyman Shawn. I would say the handiwork was slipshod at best. Unfortunately there were a few in wall mounting which required crimping of existing network ports. The crimping was badly done with wires exposed. One of the ports was later found to be faulty. However after the installation I found a number of issues. None of my smart home devices could be found eg printers, smart plugs, smart lighting etc. Secondly I also found that Din set his own profile as owner of my router system. He gives him access. He was supposed to hand over the system to me but he simply vanished. I tried reaching him on umpteen occasions without joy. I called Shawn about the failed port due to the crimping and he insisted on charging me money to fix what he ought to have done right. I hope everyone can see this and refrain from doing business with this person. I cannot believe Din chose to behave like this. Do not fall into his scam!I will be taking the necessary actions.read more

After charging $2000 to install our home network, the network started having issues within the first month. We had to switch it off and on daily. I tried to resolve myself, but after being unable to fix I reached out to Home Network to try to fix.... After just six weeks they wanted to charge $350 service fee. Clearly this is a company that doesn’t back the quality of their work if they charge such outrageous fees just six weeks after doing an installation. First time when they do my data conversion all swee swee and working nicely then suddenly after reno my house the connection was so bad that my 1gb internet become 9mbps in the living room direct LAN (using speedtest). Was so pissed off with my... contractor and electrician and decided to engage HNS again to test and and see whats the problem. Ahmad came down and check and true enough there was a problem and he suspect there is something wrong behind the feature wall. And becos of the contractor now one of the data point in the living is not usable and i ask the electrician to convert it to phone line instead. Now my looping connection cannot be use and Ahmad suggest buying another router for wifi and the old router as access point. So decided to go ahead with that suggestion and now all working fine and superb. Ahmad was technically inclined and knowledgeable and rectify the problem diligently. I was waiting for my redemption email or message of the free gift promotion from my republic but unfortunately it was a kind of a waiting game and I have to keep contacting them to ask when they are sending it. We have called on 8th of feb and the... person told us that they will get back to us within 24 to 48hours but still the waiting game continue.. on 9th of Feb i have called again and Mr KM answered the call. I have asked him to check on my promo remarks but to my surprised he said that there is no remarks or listing that I am getting that promo, so I demand to speak to the higher in-charge which is Mr Ben, he deny and insisted that he will get back to me asap as his in-charge is not at his desk or otherwise. So I told him that I will call him back in 10 to 15mins wanted to speak to Mr Ben, after time, I redial again and a lady by Miss Hannah answered, same thing happen, she said that they are aware of the issue and said that Mr Ben will call me back. After times of debating, Mr Ben called me and assuring that my promo has been amend and I will get the free gift. He also promised me that My Republic will sent me a text message with regards of the redemption by tonight (09/01/17) same day today. Same things happen again, there is not a single message comes in to my phone with regards to the redemption. It is probably a gimmicks or an eye breaker luring consumers to sign up. What an empty promised?? I shall bring all the evidence and emails to case or to the relevant peoples that are responsible with this issue. Those consumers who wants to sign up for this telco, please think again and do check accordingly on the terms and conditions. No wonder this is the 4th telco in Singapore.read more

As I was renovating my house, I contacted them to install LAN points in the bedrooms hoping to put a router in the master bedroom for better wifi reception at dead spots. However, whilst doing the on-site visit at my unit, Din suggested to install... an access point centrally located in the house for a better wifi reception throughout the whole house (HDB 5-Room Re-sale flat). I mulled over the suggestion for a few days before agreeing to it. During my renovations, the necessary cabling was done (I also added a LAN point to the master bedroom for good measure) and the installation was complete with the access point installed at the ceiling of the walkway (false ceiling). After my renovations were complete, Din came down to settle the network configurations and the access point was up and running. I did a check of the wifi reception for the whole house and there were no dead spots except for the master bedroom toilet shower area (which Din already predicted would be a dead area). Very, very happy and satisfied with my interactions with Din and him putting up with my newbie questions. He is patient and will suggest to you what is best for your home with regards to networking etc. He is also very knowledgeable and is highly recommended for his services and service mindset. Got HNS to resolve my weak signal in the toilet which is located at an obscure corner in my terrace house. After diagnosing the problem, HNS set up a new LAN point and I added the Asus RT-AC3200 as a second wireless router. Achieved significantly... better coverage and faster speed for my home. HNS also tested my home's Category 5 (specced at 100 Mhz) cable which showed that I can upgrade my broadband plan to 1 Gbps, which is the maximum speed for my home. Din came by on Thursday for a site visit, and then immediately arranged for a visit to fix the issues this Sunday. He was communicative, educational and most importantly solved the issue. He had the equipment for the continuity test of existing... cables, and did the re-termination of the points, which is now connected to an Asus Router acting as an Access Point.This problematic area in the study, speedtest have gone from 4.5 Mbps to 250 Mbpswoohoo!He also shared additional information that he does not encourage the use of Wireless Repeaters, as it may boost the wifi recep, but the bandwidth is actually limited.He does recommend either laying new cables, or powerline adaptor.Great service and most recommended.read more
